Symbol of how imponent could was the castle, the Entrance Door in Old Attigliano was the only entrance and for this reason, was equipped with a drawbridge in a deep ditch which was powered by the waters of Tevere.
Built in 1204, restored during the years , it is one of the few monuments and features its mighty beauty, which are intact after the demolitions of 1964.
In addition to the dicht , a guardian and a service of sentinel , guaranteed the security and even now , entering, on the left it is possible see the building where used to live the person who did the guard.
Until the beginning of the XXcentury, the wood door, today removed, was closed at sunset and reopened only at the sunrise.
