Calvi dell’Umbria

Calvi dell’Umbria is made by narrow streets which are going inside the village around houses, churches and squares which open on spectacula landscapes; from the structure of the medieval castle sublimated by Ferrini Palace, today headquartered of the Municipality and the important  Museum of the Ursuline Monastery; and of thos mount which has the name of San Pancrazio and which preserves – in addition to the church dedicated to the patron – the remains of a Tempio Italico between the most ancient of our territory.

origins

History

Is not difficult assume that the first settlements on the cliff, which  that had to foresee anyway the presence of Roman villas downstream, started during the high Middle-Age with the abandonment of roman Ocriculum in favor of more easily defensible places, both from barbarian invasions and from malaria.
