The castellieris are the remains of little fortificate settlements born in elevated position and easily defendable: characteristic of Martani mountains are the remains the Umbria’s people left from the medium Bronze and used until the III century BC.
You can see the most famous, after a walk, on the Castro mountain in the municipality of Massa Martana, on the Schignano mountain close to Viepri, on Cerchio mountain, close to Colpetrazzo and on the Rotondo mountain, 700 metres from the Casteldelmonte square.
