The Hermitage of San Michele: faith and tradition

The Hermitage of San Michele, of XVIII century, with the church and a little residence in two layers, is the expression of the tradition of our Green Villages: a little structure, perfectly integrate into the landscape, that show inside all the strongness of tradition of devotion of the Acquasparat’s village that celebrate the Saint Arcangelo with a procession which takes place continuously from 1725 to today, every May 8.

The beautiful trail of “cento volte” – called like this for the several curves of the trail – starts from the street that connects Acquasparta with Spoleto and for half kilometro, brings us to the Hermitage, and continues over the mountain toward the direction of Canepine.

Arriving at the hermitage means enjoying the suggestive landscape that is open from the valley of Naia until Todi. And , if you come the day of celebration, is possible enjoying the traditional breakfast with typical product and with the typical “bocconcello” – a typical cheese bread -.
