Built by the people of Avigliano Umbro for the particular dedication to what is the patron saint of the town, the Church of Sant’Egidio stands outside the walls of the Umbrian village.
The building, probably built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries by the Benedictines, is placed on a rise on which rests a churchyard that anticipates the double sloping facade.
Austere and, for this very suggestive, the interior, with a single nave, houses at the bottom the apse with an interesting fresco of the second half of the 1500s with depicted:
