The building, probably built between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries by the Benedictines, is placed on a rise on which rests a churchyard that anticipates the double sloping facade.

Austere and, for this very suggestive, the interior, with a single nave, houses at the bottom the apse with an interesting fresco of the second half of the 1500s with depicted:

• Sant’Egidio abbot protector of the shepherds with the pastoral, a book and the arrow with which he was wounded, according to tradition, by the Goths instead of a deer;
• to his left Saint Antony the Abbot, protector of animals and healer of the sick, with the traditional stick with the bell and the fire at his feet;
• on the right Sant’Anna protector of pregnant women;
• placed high the Redeemer with an angel at his side.
