To protect the course (via Roma) from the people who come from the via Flaminia to San Gemini there is the possent Porta Romana.
Supporting part of the second band of the walls, was built in the late middle age, in 1723, with three turrets, two of those were uses for the realization of the beautiful residence of the Prince Publio Scipione of Santacroce: Palazzo Santacroce, so much so that the sail preserverves a motto celebrating his family and a coat of arms.
