Towards Spoleto, inside the territory of the municipality of Acquasparta, there is a ideal place where you can start a different trails, by feet, by bike,inside interesting areas of Martani mountains, along the Valley of Maroggia or along the ditch of Matassa, knew in the past like Galliciotoli, we could find, in 1414 mentioned in different fonts with the name Firenzuola (orin the past Firencola).

The history of Firenzuola

Already in the XI century, the village was part of Terre Arnolfe and was the headquarter of the fortified in 1334 with its dependencies: Messenano, Arezzo and Scoppio Pignario. It was placed on the borders between Todi and Spoleto and was disputed by one and the other without interruptions.

Giovanni Santuccio of Scagno

In this castle was born the sculptor and the carver Giovanni of Santuccio of Scagno who was called in Todi in 1414 where his works for 44 years and he left, among other works, the facade of the Church of San Fortunato.
