Near Palazzo Vici, the Chiesa della Santissima Trinità (Church of the Holy Trinity) with its gorgeous cycle of frescoes is the parish of Avigliano Umbro.

As reported in the inscription on the back wall, it was built in the following years starting from 1595 on a land owned by  the Vici family behind the walls of the castle, at the behest of the parish priest Don Ottavio Messi  with extensive efforts of the population and with the support of Settimio Vici.

In 1639 the parish priest Don Girolamo Bernardini inaugurated the church.

In this church characterized by three naves you can admire:

  • the colorful frescoes  of Bartolomeo Barbiani from Montepulciano, among them  the ones of Sant’Isidoro, Sant’Antonio from Padova, Sant’Antonio Abate, San Biagio, the Blessed Antonio and Giovanni Vici;
  • some works by Andrea Polidori, including a Madonna del Rosario (Our Lady of the Rosary) of 1640 and a Deposizione di Cristo (Deposition of Christ) of the first decades of the seventeenth century;
  • interesting a processional cross in embossed and enameled silver of 1395, referring to the environment of Cataluccio from Todi.

Pay attention to  the particular organ, now placed on the left aisle: built by Guido Pinchi in 1980, which is a transportable instrument.
