Inside of the Castle of Sismano, today a splendid village of the Municipality of Avigliano Umbro, there is the Church of Sant’Andrea Corsini.
Dedicated to the family saint Andrea Corsini, bishop of Fiesole, the Church was built between 1640 and 1643, as can be seen from the engraving placed above the entrance door shortly after the purchase of the castle.
It is a characteristic religious building, which has a portal preceded by steps that accompany the entrance, surmounted by a large window that illuminates the interior which, although small, houses numerous masterpieces.

The single nave is developed on three bays supported by arches and the presbytery, raised, is introduced by a wonderful triumphal arch that ends in a square apse covered by a decorated barrel vault.
The baptismal font made in 1646 stands out, in which there is also engraved the coat of arms of the Corsini family, repeated several times.
The three altars then describe the core of the church, from which stand out magnificent frescoes depicting different religious subjects.
In the one on the left there is the representation of the Madonna and Child, of the peculiar Eye of God, of the Saint Andrea Corsini and of the Saint of Assisi, in the central one there is another wonderful representation of Sant’Andrea Corsini by the Tuderte Andrea Polinori, and in the right one the splendid Our Lady of the Rosary by Palmiro Alvi.
Particular is the external walkway that, from the castle, directly introduces the nobles into a box that dominates the entire building from above.
