The traditional recognition of borders

All calvesi are particularly linked to this small chapel rebuilt several times because it was the seat of the particular controversy that involved Calvi and Poggio di Otricoli based on the boundaries and use of the church itself.

The contrast arose from a clash provoked by the Poggiani who, on the day of the feast of the Patron on May 12, 1456, arrived in arms to steal the banner that was saved by the heroine Maria Ceccobelli.

Since then, on the same day of the Feast of San Pancrazio (link to event) the banner is carried in procession from the center to the top of the mountain and is revived in the presence of the mayors of Calvi and Otricoli, the re-enactment of the reconnaissance of the borders, wanted by Pope Callistus III to remedy the offense rests.
