As is unmissable a walk into the old town, the suggestion is to go around the lands of Calvi dell’Umbria and discover its territory: dominated by Mount San Pancrazio and its history, and rich of little villages which embrace themselves around charming churches. 

Around the lands of Calvi dell’Umbria

Different are the places of interest placed into the territory of Calvi dell’Umbria. 

Towards Mount San Pancrazio and the two sanctuaries

Interesting is the ascent to the mountain symbol of the town that can be realized: 

The top of San Pancrazio mountain, in addition to be characterized by many antennas, preserves the Chapel of San Pancrazio next to , ( and in historical continuity) one of the most ancient sanctuary of our lands: the remains of the Tempio Italico of the VI century BC. 

The street to Otricoli

Outside the walls of the old town on the street SP 71 which takes to  Otricoli, arises the Church of San Francesco made after the preaching of the Saint in Calvi by the work of Bernardo, one of the fifth protomartyrs to whom is dedicated the homonymous Cammino dei Protomartiri Francescani (The Way of the Franciscan Protomartyrs)which pass through this places in the third stage from Calvi dell’Umbria to Narni. 

Before arriving in the Municipality of Otricoli, in addition to the wide valleys with many beautiful farmhouses, you see the Church of San Carlo, made between 1600 and 1623, and the Church of San Giovenale in Piloni location. 

The street to  Narni

Rich of villages and churches is the street SP 18 which takes to Narni.

The Church of San Lorenzo from the 1200 and the homonymous hamlet , are the first things that you see, further, the village of Poggiolo and the Church of San Giorgio with the characteristic tower bell which sign the entrance of the town. 

In addition to Poggiolo, in the territory of Poggio di Otricoli is worthed visit the Church of San Vittore

Along the ancient via Sabina

In the direction which reaches the border with Lazio, interesting are the remains of the Church of San Salvatore, built in 1242 by the inhabitants of the Castle of Altaino who escaped from their birthplace to take refuge in Calvi. 

In addition to the ditch, on the top which looks Calvi, there are the remains of the Hermitage of San Gerolamo, a place of peace and prayers. 

Along the street SP 18, also, the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, restored during 1800 which was the summer residence of the Seminary of Magliano Sabina. Not far away, entering the  SP 54 there is the Church of Santa Maria della Neve at the center of the homonymous hamplet.
