Between the religious building of Calvi dell’Umbria, particularly is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta , that you can reach from what was the principal entrance of the castle: Porta da Capo.
Built around the second half of the thirteenth century and the only medieval church still existing, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta had originally a door facing the entrance of the village and now to the side along Via Roma.
The natural aspect, after the enlargement carried out in the middle of the XVII century, represents an example of the so-called architecture of the Counter-Reformation and late Mannerism in Umbria.
Particularly is the bell tower, in the past isolated, which now stands between the churches , the houses and the same door.

The structure has a rectangular plant and one aisle covered by barrel vault intersected by lunettes with five chapels along the two sides.
On the major altar there is the canvas of the Assunta and San Pancrazio, Patron of the town, commissioned by the community in Salvatore Pierella in 1737, with the landscape in the back of Calvi dell’Umbria.
At the sides of the presbytery there are two chapels : the Chapel Sernicoli , or Chapel of San Biagio, with a Madonna col Bambino between the Saints Biagio and Berardo made around 1630 by Giuseppe Cesari called the Cavalier d’Arpino; and the Chapel Fioretti , or of the Circumcision, with the canvas of the Circumcision of Jesus by Calisto of Bagnaia , signed and dating 1640.
Notable even the : Chapel of Madonna del Rosario which preserves a Madonna del Rosario of an unknown flemish painter , paint in 1560; the Chapel of San Giuseppe with the Marriage of the Virgin by Vincenzo Manenti; and the Chapel of the Baptism , with the beautiful Renaissance baptismal font in marble carved with the coat of arms of the community of Calvi and that of the family Ceri-Anguillara made in 1559.
The back wall of the church houses a choir with an organ of the eighteenth century.
